Congratulations on your upcoming delivery! Having a baby is an amazing, life-changing event. Bringing a new life into the world can also be a little bit scary. Whether you're a first time parent or you’ve been through it before, it’s normal to have apprehension when it comes to labor and delivery. The fear of the unknown can be tough to navigate, especially when it comes to something as major as childbirth.

One way to help ease some of that anxiety is to be as prepared as possible. The more prepared you are the more confident you will feel on the big day! This includes packing a hospital bag with all the essentials you might need during your hospital stay.

There are so many things to think about and plan for when having a baby. So, what do you need to pack in your hospital bag for childbirth?

* Insurance cards and a photo ID

* Your birth plan

* Toiletries

* Loose and comfy clothes (open in the front shirt/button down for breastfeeding)

* Socks

* Slippers

* Nursing bra

* Breast pads

* Breastpump, if you have one or Haakaa

* Snacks and drinks

* Lip balm

* Hair ties or scrunchies

* Camera

* Your phone and charger (extra long charging cord!)

* A comfy pillow

* A cozy blanket

* Going home outfit for baby

* Carseat
